Skillpoints are a resource earned each time the player character levels up. The amount gained depends on the character’s Intelligence and whether they possess the Skilled trait. Skillpoints are then spent to raise eligible skills by increasing their percentage values.

Each skill has its own percentage level. Most skills can be improved by spending skillpoints, while skills in the application category can only be increased through use.

Raising a skill normally costs one skillpoint per one percentage point. If the skill is tagged, each skillpoint increases it by two percentage points instead. Tagged skills also begin the game with a 50% bonus to their initial value.

The cost to raise a skill increases as the skill becomes higher:

Skill % Range Cost in Skill Points
1%–125% 1 Skill Point
126%–150% 2 Skill Points
151%–175% 3 Skill Points
176%–200% 4 Skill Points
201%–225% 5 Skill Points
226%–300% 6 Skill Points

When purchasing increases for a tagged skill, the two‑point gain is always bought together. If the second point crosses into a higher cost bracket, the lower cost is used. Example: A tagged skill at 125% increases to 127% for only one skillpoint.
