Farming is a skill in FOnline: The Long Journey.

If growing cabbage for months causes a sense of calm in you,and the smell of brahmin shit does not make your eyes water - then this is clearly your vocation.

The skill is practiced through application. Its affecting amount of product/seeds gathered.

In general:

- Farming is done by planting a crop seed in a suitable plant bed, watering it once, and (optionally) fertilizing it.

- To plant a seed, hold the seed in your hand and press “A”, then target a viable plant bed with the cursor.

- Watering and fertilizing a plant is the same process as planting, just with holding an open container of water or fertilizer instead and targeting the plant itself.

(Note: You must use the “A” key to water, as clicking on the water container in your main hand will cause you to drink it instead).

- All plants and mushrooms will grow one stage every 10-12 real life hours.

- There are three types of seeds and planters currently in the game; Regular, Hydroponics, and Mushroom.

- Planter Barrels vary slightly from field tiles in that they have fertilizer charges. Each fertilizer will give 10 charges to the barrel, and each plant will consume 1-3 charges when planted. When a barrel reaches 0 charges, it must be refilled with fertilizer before anything else can be planted).

- Wild yellow mushrooms can not be planted, and only have one growing stage)

- What is unique about mushrooms is that they can be fertilized on each growth stage, increasing the potential yield compared to regular or hydroponic farming.

- Mushrooms do not require direct access to sunlight to grow, similarly to hydroponics.

(Note: rain from the environment will water the mushroom beds, assuming they are placed in an area that does not have a roof)

- For each of the 5 conventionally* farmable plants the seed and harvest growth stages vary.

(*Only with Hydroponics can Broc Flower and Xander Root be grown)

- Conventional plants can only be fertilized once, but fertilization can be done at any point in their growth cycle.

- After harvesting Corn or Fiveleaf at any stage, in addition to the expected yield the player will recieve a Humus that can be composted for additional fertilizer or refined into the cloth.

- All conventional plants require direct access to sunlight to grow*

(*Unless grown in a hydroponics planter)

(Note: rain from the environment will water the conventional planters, assuming they are placed in an area that does not have a roof)

- The formula for the yield when harvesting is as follows: 0 + (+1, 0) + (Farming Skill / 50) Fertilizing a plant will increase the yield by (Farming Skill / 50), otherwise it is a 50/50 chance to receive a crop.

Initial value:

0% + (2 x ST) + (3 x PE) + (5 x IN)

Example:

Character with 10 Strength , 4 Perception and 6 Intelligence will have

0 + (2 x 10) + (3 x 4) + (5 x 6) = 62%
